• ATHENS FARMERS MARKET DOWNTOWN
Named one of the “South’s Best Farmers’ Markets” by Southern Living magazine, the Athens Farmer’s Market is a not-for-profit organization with an overarching goal of improving the health of the community through provision of local, nutrient dense foods, social interaction, and increased physical activity for the whole family!
The Wednesday market in Creature Comforts Brewing Company will be held from 4-7 p.m. throughout the season.
• ATHENS BREWERY TOUR
Athens Tours & Transit hosts an Athens Brewery Tour every Friday at 5:30 p.m. Meet at The Varsity. You’ll visit Terrapin, Creature Comforts, and Copper Creek with the tour ending at 8:50 p.m. At that point you can choose to stay downtown or ride the shuttle back to the Varsity.
• Bulldogs Baseball
The cool air is on its way out and the boys of summer are back in! The UGA Baseball team will host the a three-game series against Mississippi State on 5/12-5/14 and a one-game matchup with Furman on 5/16 at Foley Field. Game one of the series with Miss. St. will be at 7 p.m. with games two and three starting at 4 p.m. and 1 p.m., respectively. First pitch vs. Furman will be at 6 p.m. GO DAWGS!
• COMMEMORATE MEMORIAL DAY AT MEMORIAL PARK
The Athens-Clarke County Leisure Services Department will host the annual Memorial Day in Memorial Park on Monday, May 30 from 1:00 3:00 pm. Activities for the day include children’s activities, inflatables. The event is open to the public and is free of charge. This year’s activities will take place in the lower area of the park, in the vicinity of the lake and playground. Parking is limited; carpooling is encouraged. Concessions will be available for purchase.
The Memorial Park pool will be open 1:00 to 5:30 p.m. with a $1 per person pool admission fee.
