The Georgia Club Foundation
The Georgia Club Foundation, Inc. is a community foundation established in 2006. Since its inception, over 20 local organizations and thousands of individuals have been served through donations and volunteer support. In 2009, The Foundation allocated over $36,300 to local community organizations and programs. The Georgia Club residents and members and citizens of the greater community have played a large role in the organization’s success.

Mission
“The Georgia Club Foundation is dedicated to serving the unmet educational, spiritual and basic human needs of persons primarily within the surrounding counties of Barrow, Oconee, and Clarke and The Georgia Club community. Through partnerships, volunteer efforts and fundraising, the Foundation acts as the helping hand that improves and strengthens life in our community.”

Organizations Requesting Donations
The Georgia Club Foundation supports various local organizations with monetary donations each year. Organizations seeking donations must read the Funding Policies and complete the Donation Proposal Form. The proposals are reviewed by the Board at the monthly Board meeting.

3rd Annual Celebrity Golf Tournament & Auction
In this event, local sports, media and other celebrities were paired with a team for a round of golf on the Chancellors Course at The Georgia Club. This event benefited the Food Bank of Northeast Georgia and The Georgia Club Foundation.

4th Annual Front Porch Foot Race
Get a running start on your Memorial Day weekend with a 5k Run or a 1-mile Fun Run/Walk through The Georgia Club Community. All ages are welcome to participate in this family-friendly event. Proceeds go to support the Barrow County Schools Special Needs program, the Athens Nurses Clinic and The Georgia Club Foundation.

Spiritual Emphasis
The Spiritual Emphasis Committee is dedicated to increasing spiritual awareness and fulfilling spiritual needs in the community. The first Sunday of every month, a worship service is held in the Village Hall at The Georgia Club. Speakers and musical guests from various churches, schools and neighborhoods come to share their talents with us. Join us at 5:00 p.m. every first Sunday of the month for the First Sunday Worship Service sponsored by The Georgia Club Foundation.

Look what The Georgia Club Foundation has cooked up this time! The Foundation is proud to announce the official release of Cooking With Panache: Favorites from The Georgia Club, a collection of nearly 400 personal recipes submitted by Georgia Club Members and The Georgia Club Culinary Staff. Commemorative and Memorial Bench, Paver and Tree Program
Looking for a memorable way to recognize or remember someone special in your life? The Foundation's Commemorative and Memorial Bench, Paver and Tree Program gives you a unique opportunity to recognize that person and help benefit local organizations by supporting The Foundation at the same time. Benches and Trees will be located around The Georgia Club community enhancing the already beautiful scenery. Brick Pavers will be located adjacent to the Clubhouse leading to the Wedding Pavilion. Greater Community Involvement
The Georgia Club Foundation also participates in other community programs and local activities. Some include American Red Cross Blood Drives held at The Georgia Club, Adopt-A-Mile program with Oconee County, Holiday Connection (Adopt-A-Family) with Barrow County Family Connection/Communities in Schools, and monthly food distribution for the Food Bank of Northeast Georgia sponsored by the Barrow County Cooperative Benevolent Ministries.

High School Scholarships
The Georgia Club Foundation awards 3-4 scholarships annually for up to $1,000 each. Eligible high school seniors attending Apalachee High School, Athens Academy or North Oconee may apply. Scholarship priority is based on community service, financial need and academics.
