Golfers now have 27 exciting reasons to love The Georgia Club. The opening of nine new holes in 2006 made The Chancellors Course a 27-hole golf experience. All 27 holes were artfully designed by renowned architect Denis Griffiths.
The most recently-added holes blend smoothly into the other 18 so that the existing front nine was renumbered to include some of the newer nine. The existing back nine remains unchanged and the three nines are referred to as the Red Nine, the Black Nine and the Silver Nine. The combination of the Red and Black nines will create a par 72 round.
"The addition of the new nine really adds some teeth to the existing course," according to Mike O'Malley, Head Golf Professional of The Chancellors Course. "With two monster par fives, plus three of the par 4s playing more than 460 yards from the back tees, there is definitely some added length and challenge with this new addition."
One of the most aesthetically striking additions to the course is the stage that the two par 3s set, framed by a sparkling lake complete with a waterfall.
"This area will become known among the entire 27 holes as an area that golfers will identify with and remember," claims course architect Denis Griffiths.
